Inclusive Access Course Materials (VitalSource)
Some courses use Inclusive Access, a program that provides required digital course materials directly to you through RedShelf. This ensures you have access to your materials on the first day of class and at a lower cost than most retail options.
What You Need to Know
-
Lower cost, not free: Inclusive Access course materials typically cost less than purchasing materials at retail, but they are not free.
-
How you’re billed: You will see a charge on your Hennepin Tech student account listed as “Inclu Access.”
-
Automatic access: You will have access to the required digital materials through your D2L course when the semester begins.
-
Important emails: VitalSource will send emails to your Hennepin Tech email account with details about your course materials, including instructions and deadlines for opting out.
Opting Out of Inclusive Access
Inclusive Access is optional. If you decide the program is not the right fit for you, you may opt out before the opt-out deadline.
-
To opt out, you must use the VitalSource Inclusive Access link within your D2L course.
-
If you opt out by the deadline, the Inclusive Access fee will be removed from your student account.
-
Once you opt out, your access to the digital materials will end, and you will be responsible for purchasing the required course materials on your own.
Important Considerations
-
Required course materials for Inclusive Access courses are not available through Hennepin Tech’s Campus Store.
-
Inclusive Access fees are non-refundable after the opt-out deadline, even if you drop the course or decide not to use the materials.
